Keep it Simple Stupid. Keep your handheld recorder handy for when inspiration strikes. These days even your phone can be the best notepad recorder. Back in the days of answering machines I had friends who used them as simple song idea recorders. It's very helpful to establish a routine for recording so simple steps don't get lost. Mine? F12----Apple Z! Record then go nope! Do it again. File labeling and dating is crucial. Back up. Back up. Back up again. Keep a back up somewhere besides your home or studio. You'll be very glad you did.
